There are some things in this world that just do not make sense. As you all know, this past week some man proclaimed that he was "present" when JonBenet died. Present?? That was a very interesting choice of words. Many can claim they were present when Michael Jordan hit that last minute jumper to seal another NBA title. Or when George W. Bush landed on the aircraft carrier claiming victory in the Middle East. But to state simply he was present during the death of an innocent 6 year old girl is pure insanity. Unfortunately, this individual is now infamous and anything he says will be repeated literally around the world. Certainly, hundreds of journalists are now circling the compound that houses this individual hoping to understand what occured almost 10 years ago. It saddens me that after all these years, JonBenet's family had to endure ridicule and suspicion for the death of their daughter. And maybe some people still believe they have some guilt involved as well. I don't know. But what bothers me most is how JonBenet seems to be lost in this media hype. I can't help but think what her life would be like now, especially when you consider what she has missed. Entering high school, learning to drive, going to the prom. These are things we all take for granted and expect, and they were taken away from her at such a young age. It doesn't make sense to me, and it never will.

Its Been A While...

Well its taken almost a year since my last entry. I have to admit, I don't have any pressing issues to report. Our world has become more and more crazy since 2006 started. We have the Hezbollah-Israel war, terrorists trying to use shampoo to fabricate bombs, and Carmen Electra filing for divorce (shocker!). When will it all end? Sometimes I feel society enjoys controversy in order to keep interested in current events. I know I'm rambling but don't you sometimes think that the government wants us to be afraid of everything so that we'll allow our rights to be usurped. This is not a new idea I know, but lately its been on my mind. Of course, they want us to continue shopping to 'keep America strong'. As if my eating a Big Mac will save the world. Its seems like we've entered into the Twilight Zone, an abyss. And while there is a way out, we must pay $10 for our doppio espresso deluxe ensuring that Osama doesn't have us in his sights. Interesting. There are many noble people in this world, and some of them are in Washington, London, Ottawa, Canberra, even Paris. I just hope the nobles of Baghdad, Kabul and Islamabad survive the day, specifically the citizens who want to strive for peace. Without their help, we'll never be able to withdraw from the region. I trust that that is our ultimate goal. And when that day arrives, I hope the citizens there will only need to worry about how much they must pay for their doppio espresso deluxe. Ten dollars doesn't sound so bad after all.
